I was the unfortunate victim of cellphone theft last week when I was with a client in PMB. Basically, even though the offices have security, someone was allowed into the premises and they landed up stealing my cellphone from under my nose!

No kidding - I mean this literally. Whilst the one young man distracted me and asked for directions to some fictitious lecture on the UKZN campus, another took my phone which was right next to me on the desk! UNBELIEVABLE.

Needless to say my heart skipped a beat and I become enraged, stupidly got in my car and actually started looking for them. I know, stupid but I had to do something.  Fortunately, my husband was able to block the card and get me a new SIM immediately which meant that by the time I got home, I was able to communicate again.

BUT, I am so lucky that I had all my numbers stored on another phone that I had recently been given with a contract (but didn't want to use) AND I have most of my numbers on my laptop. So despite the fact that I was hugely annoyed and disappointed that a day after the elections I had been robbed, I am so grateful that I had a back-up.

So learn from my experience and back-up, back-up & back-up some more...
